🇺🇸 About Me & My Journey

About Me

Hi, I'm Sebastian (Basti) – a cyclist and adventurer from Munich, Germany 🇩🇪

After years of dreaming about long-distance cycling, I finally decided to take on my biggest challenge yet: The Panamericana by bike – from Alaska to Patagonia.

This blog documents my journey, the people I meet, the challenges I face, and the incredible landscapes I cycle through. Follow along as I pedal through the Americas!

Quick facts:

The Panamericana Route

The Panamericana (Pan-American Highway) is the world's longest road network, stretching from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina – approximately 25,000 km through 15 countries. I plan on cycling it in 1 and 1/2 years.

My planned route:

🇺🇸 North America

  • Alaska → Canada → USA (West Coast)
  • ~8,000 km

🇲🇽 Mexico & Central America

  • Mexico → Guatemala → El Salvador → Honduras → Nicaragua → Costa Rica → Panama
  • ~5,000 km

🇨🇴 South America

  • Colombia → Ecuador → Peru → Bolivia→ Chile/Argentina → Patagonia
  • ~12,000 km
